Cheese with your whine, sir? I dislike Vista (notice I said dislike, not hate) but I'm not about to sue my employer for the time wasted during boot up's and shutdown's. Then again, I'm not paid hourly so I guess my perspective is irrelevant. In any event, I would assume this would be a concern of the employers, not the employees. As an employer, if you know your employees are less productive due to poor software, that should be a main concern. Surprisingly, it's the employees suing the employers. Maybe Microsoft employees should sue Microsoft for time wasted during Vista boot up's and shutdown's; maybe then, and only then, would Microsoft actually address Vista's problems.
Employees Sue to be Paid for Time Spent Booting Up
Lifehacker reports: "If you're manager tracks your time based on when you log in and out of your machine at work, then are you missing out on pay for the time you're waiting for your machine to boot up and shut down? That's what a series of lawsuits by employees from the likes of AT&T, UnitedHealth and Cigna demand ... In other words, does the clock start when you show up at the office or when the computer first logs you into the company network? ... Are you getting stiffed time at your desk waiting for your operating system to startup?"
